Get to know me a little bit better! These are my most asked questions I get on the regular.
1. How old are you?
2. Where are you from?
3. Do you blog full-time?
No, I wish! I received my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and am an SLP! I love my job so much, and love the impact I make on other’s lives, but would love to be able to pursue blogging full-time one day. We’ll see!
4. What made you want to start a blog?
My love for writing is the #1 reason I started blogging. My job as an SLP entails a lot of writing, but in a much more “structured” way. Creative writing is an outlet for me to express myself and share my ideas and thoughts on paper. When I first started out, I created a “blog” but didn’t really know much about web design, the details that go into creating a blog post (i.e. linking products, formatting a blog post, etc.), things like that. I just really enjoyed writing. I decided to shut down that website because, at that point, I just loved to write. So I continued to write privately, and share my everyday favorites on my Instagram. After a ton of research, conversations/help from web designers, I decided I was ready to launch my blog. I feel like it’s the right time to do this, and I am so happy I did!
5. Where do you get your style inspiration?
I don’t know if anyone else can agree, but my style “aesthetic” changes daily. I feel like I love and pull my inspiration from so many different styles. I don’t think I would say I get my style inspiration from specific people, but more from specific aesthetics. I love classic, timeless pieces, but I also love mixing in a trend here and there. I also like the idea of mixing affordable pieces with designer accessories, like shoes, handbags, hats, etc. I kind of just wear what I feel good in!
6. How do you edit your pictures?
I have tried out so many different presets, but right around the time quarantine started, I started working on my first very own preset! I’ve stuck with it over the past few months and really like it. I am thinking about making a set to share with all of you!
7. Who takes all of your pictures?
Usually friends/family or Alex! Sometimes I plan my “shoot days”, where I shoot a bunch of different looks in one day to stock up on content, other times it just “in the moment”. I also sometimes shoot with Madison Lane Photo, she’s a super talented photographer based in Brooklyn!
8. Are you in a relationship?
Yes! 6 years with my boyfriend, Alex! He’s the best. He rarely makes an appearance on my IG/blog, but he’s always here x
9. What are your favorite websites to shop from?
10. What do you take your pictures with?
Usually my iPhone, unless I am using my Canon DSLR, which is occasionally.
11. What’s your favorite color?
12. How did you & your boyfriend meet?
We met in college, did long distance for few years and then moved in together!
13. *this question is straight from the dms* YOUR DOG!! SO CUTE!! What kind?
Brave is the love of our lives. She is an F1b (the smallest kind) of miniature goldendoodle. She joined our family back in April and is the best thing that’s ever happened to us.
14. What is the hardest thing about blogging?
I had to think about this question. I used to get really down on myself if I wasn’t consistent enough, didn’t post enough, my feed didn’t flow the right way, etc. I always try to remind myself why I started doing this in the first place. It makes me happy! I always remind myself of my why and in that sense blogging is never “hard” for me. I am lucky enough to have a supportive career that allows me to do this on the side. I always tell myself, what you put into something is what you get out. I work my ass off for my Instagram/Blog. You can ask my friends + family, and I’m not ashamed to say that! I am proud of what I have accomplished, but I always remind myself of my why.
15. How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging just under 2 years ago, but didn’t really start taking it seriously until about a year into it! Now it’s almost like a fun part-time job!
16. How do you get brands to work with you?
I get this question a lot. Hard work + dedication. Sometimes, brands will reach out to me, but a lot of times, I will reach out to brands. There’s a lot of behind the scenes paperwork, invoices, etc. that goes into creating collaborations with brands.
17. What is your favorite part of blogging?
Meeting and connecting with new people, 100%! I love having conversations with new people every single day. It makes me so happy. I also love working and networking with brands that I never thought I would!
18. I want to start a blog but don’t know how to get started. How did you do it?
Literally, just do it! I looked back at some of my old Instagram posts from when I first started, I will save you the embarrassment and theres a reason they are archived (ha!). If there is something you are passionate about, my piece of advice is to do it for you! Do what makes you happy because life is too short to wonder what could have been.
19. Is it hard balancing your job, your blog, and your personal life?
If you ask any of my family or friends, then you know this answer to this question is No. I love being busy, and I cannot not be busy. Alex makes fun of me because I can’t even sit down for an hour to watch a movie with him. I love being busy with productive things, that is what is fulfilling to me! Of course sometimes my everything can get a little overwhelming, and I obviously get stressed out just like any other person, but I love being busy, with my job, with my blog, and with my friends + family.
