If you’re like me, finding a good denim brand that you love and fits “just right” is hard to find. I’ve spent years trying to find the perfect jeans, and finally have a core group of brands and fits that I genuinely love.
I put together a list of my Top 5 Denim brands + fits to share with you guys to make shopping for jeans a little less painful. For reference, I’m 5’1 and about 110 lbs. The majority of these jeans are a “looser” and more high-waisted fit, because I find that to be the most flattering on me, personally. Because of that, I think these fits would be flattering on many different body types, heights, etc. Also, across these 5 brands, prices vary. I wanted to provide denim brands at various price points that I love + that don’t sacrifice quality. I hope this post is helpful + let me know if you try out any of these brands!
If you’ve been following me for some time, you know that Agolde is my #1 recommendation when it comes to denim. From their jeans to their denim shorts, I have yet to find a pair that I dislike. The quality of their denim is insane, and their fits are super flattering. They are on the pricier side, but you are paying for a good, quality pair of jeans that will last you for years. I typically go for a looser fit, or a straight leg hem, like the 90’s loose fit, the Criss Cross Upsized Jean, or the Pinched Waist High Rise Kick — However, I do have a few pairs of their Riley Skinny and can confirm they are stretchy + comfy. These jeans tend to run a little bit big, so I recommend sizing down.
Levi’s are a wardrobe staple, in my opinion, BUT – I will say you need to find the right pair. Levi’s typically have a “stiff” feel to them because of their amazing quality, however, if you “break them in” they will become your favorite pair. Just give them time. Their price point is usually just over $100, which isn’t terrible but is still a little pricy. Again, with price comes quality. My favorite pair of Levi’s is the Ribcage Straight Leg. They are so flattering on so many body types and probably one of my most comfortable pairs of jeans that I own. I could not recommend them enough. I also really like the Levi’s Wedgie Icon Fit, but these you really need to break in as they are on the stiffer side! I usually size up one size when ordering Levi’s.
Topshop has really great denim at affordable prices. Most of their jeans are under $100, which is pretty good. I love their Chicago Dad Jeans + have them in two colors. They are high-waisted, and loose on the leg – making them very flattering and comfortable. Their Mom Jeans are another pair I have + love! I usually order my true size in Topshop Jeans.
Urban Outfitters is one of my favorite places to get trendy denim pieces at a great price. They carry brands like Levi’s + Agolde, but they also carry their own, affordable line, BDG. The BDG line ranges in price, but is typically in the $40-$70 range, which isn’t too bad for a quality pair of jeans. Plus, they are ALWAYS having sales (right now all BDG denim is 25% off!). The BDG line offers a ton of different fits from skinny to baggy, but as always, I like the looser fits. Some of my favorites are the High-Waisted Wide Leg, High-Waisted Mom Jean, and Jackson Straight Leg. I usually get my true size in this brand, as well.
Last, but not least, Glassons! I recently started working with this Australian based brand + have completely fell in love with their denim! I was skeptical at first because the prices are SO good…like all under $40 good. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and fit of their denim, and will definitely be ordering more. Some of their denim shorts are now my absolute favorites and go-to’s as of late. I order a size US 4(S), which is the same as NZ/AU 8. I like them to be a little looser, but could definitely go down to a US 2(XS) for a more fitted look. If you haven’t tried this brand yet, I hope I sold you, because they are so good! I linked some of my favorite pairs below.
